Here is a simple guide explaining how Twenix classes are evaluated!
We're excited to have the opportunity to help you practice and improve your communication skills in this wonderful language. π¬π£οΈ
Our main goal is for you to feel more confident with your pronunciation and to expand your vocabulary during the process. πποΈ
Which skills are assessed during the lesson?
- Communication of ideas: This refers to your effort to communicate during class, as well as your ability and ease in sharing your opinions and experiences with your teacher clearly and competently.
- Fluency: This skill reflects your ability to speak the language naturally and accurately, without unnecessary pauses and in a manner appropriate to the context.
- Vocabulary: Measures the variety of vocabulary applied, including that which is used and retained during class.
- Pronunciation: Focuses on enunciation, your ability to accurately reproduce English sounds, as well as the correct use of accent and intonation.
What criterion is used to assess ability?
Our assessment criteria are inspired by and aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL).
These criteria have been drafted by our team of English language teaching experts at Twenix Learning.
Our Tweachers are trained to objectively evaluate students during each lesson. Their assessment is based on your overall performance during class, and each speaking skill is rated out of five within the level you have been assigned upon joining Twenix.
Here's an overview of the grading system:
1/5 β: You're getting there, but there are areas for improvement.
2/5 β: Great! You just need a little more practice.
3/5 β: Perfect! You're right on track!
4/5 β: Excellent! You're acing this level!
5/5 β: Amazing! You're exceeding all expectations!
Remember that your teacher will assess your speaking skills throughout the class, but don't worry! π€ Our teachers are fair, motivating, and understanding. They know we're all constantly learning, and it's not about being 100% perfect all the time. ππ― We all have good days and not-so-good days, and that's perfectly fine!
When you review your progress, we encourage you to do so from a broader perspective and reflect on how far you've come since you began your journey in the English language.
Every step counts, and every effort you put in brings you closer to your goals. πͺπ
